2003
The CensusAtSchool NZ project has collected a large multivariate data set from a survey of 18,000 New Zealand school children from 388 schools. These students completed an online survey during school hours in August and September, 2003.
We have provided some summary tables to give you the responses from a variety of questions on the CensusAtSchool NZ survey conducted in August-September 2003.
You can select a simple random sample (SRS) of the data by using the Random Sampler. Each school year group is stored separately in our data base. If you require data for all year levels, then you will need to request each year level as a separate sample and combine them.
The sample data is presented in a ‘.csv’ file that opens in MS Excel. The headings in the Excel worksheet are explained in the downloadable file called C@S Survey variables.
There are numerous possibilities for investigation including comparisons within New Zealand by region, gender, or age. You can also make comparisons internationally by visiting the international home page and downloading some similar data from one of the partner projects overseas. (Note: only some of the variables are common internationally)
