May 2005: Announcing CensusAtSchool 2005! CensusAtSchool is running again in 2005 from 15 August - 9th September, launching in Maths Week.In 2003, 18,000 students from 388 schools completed the questionnaire.
In 2005 an even better response is expected and there will be a real emphasis on teaching resources addressing important elements of the curriculum. CensusAtSchool 2005 will also play a key role in educating families about the March 2006 National Census.
Would you please encourage teachers of year 5-10 mathematics classes to put "class-participation in CensusAtSchool 2005" in their diaries for August. It is an online activity so they will also need to book computer time.
Major support for CensusAtSchool 2005 is coming from the Ministry of Education, Statistics New Zealand, and the Department of Statistics at the University of Auckland.
